EYE OF THE COLLECTOR
Special thanks to Rebecca Langford for photos.
Eye of the Collector was a temporary special exhibition at the Perot Museum that focused on nine individual collectors and their collections. The museum exhibits team had come up with a rough style guide that consisted of colors, the exhibit logo, and a loose grid system. They came to me looking for someone to strengthen and build out the graphic design assets for entirety of the exhibit.
After pitching a few concepts (including one that involved a lot of spray paint and collecting items myself), I built out the rest of the look by creating 9 patterns – one for each collector and a general pattern – to be used as wallpapers within the collection cases. I then chose typefaces and created lockups for signage, and designed all banners, description cards, and ID labels within the exhibit doors.
